OKLAHOMA CITY -

A woman was arrested on multiple complaints after an Oklahoma County deputy caught her eating meth and marijuana during a traffic stop in southwest Oklahoma City.

According to the Sheriff's office, on Monday, a deputy was in the area of S.W. 59th Street and S. May Avenue when he saw a vehicle pulling a trailer that didn't have working lights on it.

The deputy stopped the vehicle. While speaking to the driver, the deputy said he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

The driver reportedly told the deputy that the passenger, 37-year-old Channon Celesta Towers, was eating marijuana in the backseat of the vehicle. That's when the deputy saw Towers take a take a large amount of marijuana and stuff it in her mouth.

The deputy attempted to get Towers to stop, but authorities said she tried to bite the deputy.

Eventually, the deputy was able to get Towers in custody. In addition to the marijuana, Towers admitted to eating one gram of methamphetamine.

Inside the vehicle, the deputy recovered a glass pipe with residue, a crystal substance believed to be meth, and an assortment of pills.

Towers was taken to the hospital. After being cleared by medical staff, she was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, destroying evidence and obstruction of justice.

Towers is being held on $7,500 bail. She also has a municipal hold placed on her from the Oklahoma City Marshal's.
