A man and a woman were arrested on multiple complaints, including possession of a stolen car, a stolen gun, and drugs, after an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy pulled them over in southwest Oklahoma City.

According to the Sheriff's office, on Friday, January 9, a deputy was at the intersection of S.W. 59th and May when he ran a license place of a car next to him. Information came back that the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The deputy stopped the car at S.W. 54th and May Avenue. Inside the vehicle were two people, the driver, 31-year old Benjamin Madewell and a passenger, 33-year old Crystal Smith. Both Madewell and Smith had previous felony convictions, according to the Sheriff's office.

During the stop, the deputy found a semi-automatic pistol that had been reported stolen to the Norman Police Department. Also inside the vehicle, the deputy found two filled syringes and a digital scale.

Both Madewell and Smith were booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm after previous felony conviction.

Madewell also faces a complaint of driving with a revoked license.

Both Madewell and Smith are currently in custody on $18,500 bail. They both have holds pending out of Cleveland County.
