OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police are searching for a stolen truck, shotgun and ammo.

A metro man started his 2013 Chevrolet Silverado early Sunday morning and two minutes later, he heard it drive away.

On Sunday at 5:30 a.m., Coltan Middleton was headed to Piedmont. He had hunting plans. He said he started his truck and went inside to grab some clothes.

“It wasn't but maybe two minutes, three minutes,” he said.

And on his way back out the door, he heard his after-market exhaust roaring down the road.

“I just thought, surely not. There's no way that somebody really just stole my truck. Sure enough, it was gone,” Middleton said.

His truck was gone and hundreds of dollars of brand new hunting gear, plus a black Remington 12-gauge pump and about 100 shotgun shells inside it were gone too.

“My buddies were out in Piedmont getting ready and once that happened I had to call them. Ain't going to make it hunting. Gun's gone. Camo's gone. Truck's gone … So no ducks this morning,” Middleton said.

Middleton described the truck as a 2013 white Chevrolet Silverado with Oklahoma plates: 608JYW.

It has about $2,500 worth of bells and whistles on it; new tires, tinted windows, black wheels and a leveling kit.

“It's pretty distinctive,” explained Middleton.

And he said he believes it was the distinctive vehicle and the trust he had in the quiet Oklahoma City neighborhood that made him a victim.

“I think somebody had seen me do it and was scouting the neighborhood and seen me go back in and thought, alright this is my chance,” Middleton said.

And Middleton said another giveaway for his truck is the headlights. He said the low beams only work on the driver's side. Both headlights only work if the high beams are on.

If you see it, call police.
