EL RENO, Oklahoma -

Norman Police are looking for two suspects who abandoned a toddler strapped inside his car seat in 30 degree temperatures.

A Good Samaritan found the boy in El Reno, as the boy's mother was frantically searching in Norman.

The mother said her two roommates dropped her off at a doctor's appointment on Monday.

When the mother came back outside, the two suspects had taken off in her car with her toddler in the back seat.

A nail salon owner in El Reno found the boy.

“I see a baby and I say, 'Oh my gosh,' then I walk out to see the baby,'” said Kenny Le.

Le stepped outside from Fashion Nails to take a smoke Monday evening around 5:45 p.m. and was shocked to find a baby on the ground.

“Right here, in the car seat and his hands were like this,” Le gestured.

Someone had dumped the 3-year-old boy in his car seat, behind the shopping center. The wind was howling and the temperature was 36 degrees.

“Quickly, I pick up him and put him inside and call 911, ambulance,” Le told News 9.

Le, his coworkers and customers all rushed to warm the child inside. They said the boy's skin was red; he was cold to the touch and crying hysterically.

“Blankets and warm him up, cover him and we turned the heat really high and made sure he's safe,” Le explained.

The boy is 3-year-old Daniel Wilcox.

Police said the two suspects, who lived with Daniel's mom and dad, took the mom's car in Norman and ditched the boy in El Reno.

Norman Police said the mom tried to repeatedly contact the roommates herself to return the boy, so there was a delay reporting the missing child to police.

When Norman Police were preparing an Amber Alert, El Reno Police notified them the child had already been found.

“If I was late by about 30 minutes or 20 minutes, I think he doesn't have a life no more,” Le said.

Oklahoma's Department of Human Services worked quickly to confirm the boy's identity and reunited him with his family.

Daniel is now home with his mom and dad.

Right now, Norman Police are not releasing the names of the two suspects, but they confirm this is an active investigation.

The boy's parents are furious with the roommates and hope police find them soon.
