OKLAHOMA CITY -

Those seeking a safe option to drinking and driving, AAA Auto Service wants to remind everyone their “Tipsy Tow” service extends until 4 a.m. Friday morning.

To get the free service, anyone who's been drinking has to call Triple A at 1-800-222-5357. AAA Auto Service will come to whatever bar or restaurant you are, load your vehicle onto a carrier, then drive you, your vehicle, and even another passenger home.

“Fifteen mile radius from point of pickup anytime during the day morning or night,” said AAA Auto Service Spokesman Chuck Mai Wednesday evening. “We don't care until four o'clock in the morning January 2nd, AAA member or not, no charge,” he said.

Mai said despite the offer, only 260 or so people take advantage of “Tipsy Tow” in the entire state each year. Although, he said 200 of those folks use it over the New Year's Eve holiday.
