LOGAN COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Search warrants provide new details in the investigation into the murder of 65-year-old James Fox.

Deputies found Fox beaten to death in his home on Holly Hill Drive, last week. Since then, they have been searching for information about possible suspects, as evidenced by search warrants filed with the Logan County Court Clerk's office.

"I have lived out here since 1985 and this is the first murder that has been this close," Charles Gleba said after learning of his neighbor's death.

Gleba says he did not know Fox very well, but was still surprised to hear the details.

"I was trying to figure out why someone would beat the guy to death," he said.

Investigators are also trying to sort it all out. According to a search warrant, Logan County Sheriff's Deputies were first called out to the victim's home Dec. 9, when someone reported that his animals were not being properly cared for.

Five days later, they were called back to the house for reports of a missing person. When deputies made their way inside, they reported finding a bloody power strip and several pieces of furniture overturned. And in a back bedroom, they spotted the victim's arm protruding from under the bed.

Investigators immediately conducted a routine search of the home. According to court records, a number of items were collected including a condom wrapper, sheets, pillowcase, blood and numerous fingerprints as evidence. That's not all, investigators recovered surveillance photos of a man believed to be associated with the victim just prior to his death.

Deputy Chief Richard Stephens said it is possible that person is driving the victim's missing white 1999 Cadillac Seville with a license plate 006 LJN. The car has some unique characteristics -- damage to the driver's side mirror and a hitch on the back.

Gleba hopes one of the leads will pan out.

"Anybody that does something like that needs to be tracked down and justice applied." he said.

If you have any information about Fox's death, please call authorities at (405) 620-3204.
