The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported authorities are closer to finishing the investigation into the bus crash that killed four North Central Texas College athletes and injured others on Sept. 26 on I-35 in Murray County.

The softball team was headed back from a game in Bethany against Southern Nazarene University when an 18-wheeler headed north on I-35 near Turner Falls crossed the median into the southbound lanes and crashed into the school's bus.

OHP investigators said they originally estimated the investigation's completion date for ten weeks after the crash. This week, however, authorities said the collision's complexity is a factor in the delay and advanced forensic testing of evidence is required.

When the investigation is completed, it will be presented to the Murray County District Attorney's office.
