An argument over a text message and a guitar led to a domestic stabbing outside of an apartment complex on the northwest side of the metro, late Sunday night.

Oklahoma City Police received a call regarding a domestic assault in progress at the apartment complex, located in the 7500 block of NW 10th St., just after 11 p.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived they found the victim and the suspect, 49-year-old Constance Walker, in a tug of war over a guitar in the parking lot of the complex. Police separated the two and placed them both in handcuffs. Both Walker and the victim had blood on their clothing.

Police first spoke with the victim, who said that Walker was his girlfriend of five months. He said Walker showed up to his apartment that night, drunk and angry, after he sent her a text earlier, joking that he was with another woman.

The victim told police the two exchanged words before Walker grabbed an ashtray and began hitting him over the head. He said she then grabbed his guitar and ran out into the parking lot. The victim said he followed Walker out into the parking lot where a fight over the guitar ensued. While they were fighting over the guitar, the victim told police Walker pulled out a knife and stabbed him in his left wrist.

The victim said he was able to get the knife from Walker and hide it in his car before going back for his guitar a second time. It was during this second fight over the guitar that police arrived.

Police said they tried to question Walker about the incident but she refused to talk, only saying, “I don't know why you ain't taking that motherf*****'s a** to jail. This is his fault.”

EMSA was called to the scene to check both the victim and Walker. Emergency crews noted that the victim had small lacerations on his left wrist and behind his left ear. Walker had no visible injuries.

The officers finished investigating the scene and placed into evidence the knife allegedly used in the assault. They then took Walker into custody, where she was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. A bond has not yet been set.
