OKLAHOMA CITY -

The clouds and some fog will stick with us this evening with pockets of dense fog developing overnight in places. So make sure you use those low beam headlights, slow down and keep plenty of room between you and other cars. With increasing moisture under south winds overnight, temperatures will stay mild with lows in the low 50's.

These above normal temperatures will continue right through the weekend ahead of a strong storm system that could bring us a slight chance of severe weather on Sunday. On Saturday we can expect those south winds to increase under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will be 15-25 mph with some higher gusts at times especially across western Oklahoma.

A few light showers will be possible Saturday night and into Sunday morning, but most areas will remain dry, mild and increasingly humid. Our average high for this time of the year is only 51° and we're expecting lows to be in the mid- to upper 50's by Sunday morning. By late Sunday morning, a line of showers and thunderstorms will develop and move into western parts of the state. Some of these storms could be strong to marginally severe by lunchtime, with winds up to 60 mph and hail as large as a quarter. This line of rain and storms will quickly move across the area affecting Oklahoma City by late afternoon and will likely arrive in eastern Oklahoma by early Sunday evening.

Behind this storm system, there will be some cool air and left over clouds on Monday. Under north winds 15-30 mph, highs will struggle to reach the lower 50's.

Looking ahead, our active pattern continues to crank up with rain chance by mid- to late next week with even snow chances as well.
