The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department arrested two men after a slow-roll pursuit on I-40 just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities said the car was weaving along the interstate near the Douglas Boulevard exit and when the deputy tried to stop the driver, he kept going about 20 mph along Douglas Boulevard.

During the pursuit, law enforcement officials said the back passenger door would open while the car was moving. At one point, authorities said a man was hanging outside the door and eventually fell out of the car and was run over by the driver. Deputies said that happened in the parking lot of St. Anthony's East hospital.

After that, authorities said the driver, 29-year-old Edmond Spottedorn got out of the vehicle even though a deputy was shouting at him to stay in the vehicle. Deputies said he refused, got out and walked into the hospital. The passenger, 40-year-old Christopher Cornelius was taken into custody.

Medical professionals inside the hospital were treating Spottedcorn, who authorities said appeared highly intoxicated.

In the vehicle, police found a BB gun, several open beer cans and a box of unopened beer. Spottedcorn was driving on a revoked license and did not have insurance, according to deputies. He also has prior felony convictions.

After getting treated at the hospital, Spottedcorn was taken to the Oklahoma County Jail on charges including driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of a firearm while under the influence, driving with a revoked license, transporting an open container, improper lane use, no insurance and obstruction of justice. His bond was set at $24,000.

The passenger, Cornelius, was arrested for possession of a firearm after felony conviction, possession of a firearm while under the influence and obstruction of justice. His bond was set at $7,000.

Authorities said the person who fell out of the car and was run over was treated and released for his injuries and no charges are expected to be filed against him.
