Oklahoma State's Tyreek Hill and Emmanuel Ogbah were named to the 2014 All-Big 12 Conference football team today, with Hill also honored as the Offensive Newcomer of the Year and Ogbah honored as the Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Ogbah, who was named to the first team, is the first Oklahoma State player to be named Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year, while Hill, who received recognition as a returner on the second team, is the first Cowboy to be named Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year since Adarius Bowman in 2006. Oklahoma State now has 17 individual award winners in the 19-year history of the Big 12, ranking fourth in the conference.

There were nine honorable mentions for the Cowboys, including Hill for Special Teams Player of the Year, Josh Furman for Defensive Newcomer of the Year and linebacker, Jimmy Bean for defensive line, James Castleman for defensive line, Ben Grogan for placekicker, Jeremy Seaton for fullback, Ryan Simmons for linebacker and Kip Smith for punter.

Selections to the All-Big 12 Conference football teams are made by the league's 10 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players.

Hill wrapped up the regular season with 1,811 all-purpose yards, including 534 on the ground, 281 receiving, 256 via punt return and 740 via kickoff return. His 996 combined kick return yards are the second-most in the nation this year, and his 150.9 all-purpose yards per game rank 11th nationally.

In addition to his impressive numbers, Hill has had several highlight-reel moments during the season, capped by a 92-yard punt return score with under a minute remaining to set up Oklahoma State's overtime win over Oklahoma in Norman. His others include a late kickoff return for a score at Kansas to break a late-game tie and give the Cowboys the win, a season-high 278 all-purpose yards against defending national champion Florida State in the season opener, and a kickoff return for a touchdown that broke open OSU's close game with Iowa State.

Hill is just one of two players in the country this year to score touchdowns by rushing, receiving, kickoff return and punt return. He is one of only five players in the nation to return both a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown this year and is one of only two players in the country with more than one kickoff return for a score plus a punt return score.

Ogbah has also had several big moments. He erupted on a national stage to open 2014 when he had six tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and two pass-breakups against top-ranked Florida State. He was a consistent menace to Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston and the Seminole passing attack all game.

His best performance of the season, however, came at Kansas where he registered 5.5 tackles for loss, setting an OSU single-game record, ranking as the most for any player in the country this season and ranking as the most for a Big 12 player since 2009.

Ogbah is third in the Big 12 and 14th nationally in tackles for loss per game (1.4) and is second in the Big 12 and ranks ninth nationally in sacks per game (0.92). He finished the regular season with 46 tackles to lead all OSU linemen, 11 sacks to rank as the sixth-best total in school history and 17 tackles for loss.

Hill and Ogbah were also named to the AP All-Big 12 first team this week, marking the first All-Big 12 team recognition for both players.
