Classes for Crooked Oak Public Schools are canceled following a fire that damaged several school buses.

Oklahoma City firefighters were called to the school district's bus barn on S.E. 15th near Eastern Avenue around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Oklahoma City fire crews said the engine of a bus belonging to the Crooked Oak Public School District caught fire. Seven of the district's eight buses were in the garage when the fire broke out just after 4 a.m..

Fire crews said the electronic gate leading to the bus barn was locked and the power source to the gate was in the garage, so they lost a little bit of time.

No one was hurt. But because most of the buses were damaged, there's no school for the approximately 1,200 Pre-K through 12th grade students on Wednesday. The district asks only faculty and staff to report to work.

Fire investigators do not believe this was suspicious in nature.
