Teen Injured After EMSA Unit, Pickup Crash In Edmond

Emergency crews are responding to a crash involving a pickup truck and an EMSA unit in Edmond, Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of a pickup truck had to be extricated from his vehicle after colliding with an ambulance in Edmond, Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on W. Edmond Rd. near S. State St., in between N. Kelly Ave. and the Broadway Extension.

Authorities tell News 9 two teenagers, a male and a female, were inside of the pickup when the crash occurred. The male teen was driving the pickup and was still trapped inside of the vehicle when rescue crews arrived. He was transported from the scene to a local hospital in unknown condition. The female teen was treated for minor injuries.

Two medics and one student inside of the EMSA unit were taken from the scene as 'non-emergency' transports just as a precaution. The ambulance was not occupied by a patient at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
