OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City man was arrested after police said he punched his girlfriend and attacked her with a decorative cross.

According to police, at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the report of a domestic incident at an apartment in the 1600 block of S. Phillips Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a woman who had blood all over her head and face.

The woman told police that her boyfriend, 28-year-old Devoe Quintis Johnson, was high on meth when he accused her of bringing other men over while he was asleep. The victim said she denied the allegations. That's when Johnson became angry and began punching her.

Johnson, police said, then grabbed a decorative cross made of wood with metal nails interwoven on the front, and began hitting his girlfriend on the head with it. Police said the woman had multiple lacerations to her head and face.

The victim was able to grab her phone and call police. Johnson was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse.
