A Muskogee woman died in a two-vehicle collision that took place on Highway 69 in Muskogee County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers investigated the fatal collision at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014.

A trooper says Aleshia Regina Gates was trying to cross the northbound lanes of the highway and enter Oktaha Road. Her Honda CRV was struck by a pickup that was northbound on the highway.

Gates, 52, was struck on the passenger side after failing to yield, a collision report states. She died at a Muskogee hospital.

The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Gary Noel Clay of Muskogee, was treated and released for arm and leg injuries.

The cause of the crash and condition of the drivers was still under investigation when OHP issued their collision report. They say Gates was not wearing a seat belt.
