Oklahoma Sweeps Texas Tech On The Road

The Oklahoma volleyball team snapped a two-game conference losing streak with a 3-0 sweep of Texas Tech on Saturday.

The Oklahoma volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Texas Tech on the road in dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners improved to 19-9 overall and 9-5 in the Big 12, while the Red Raiders dropped to 15-12 and 3-12.

Oklahoma's 10th sweep of the season came by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-15. Junior outside hitter Kierra Holst knocked down a match-high 19 kills. Over the last eight matches, she is averaging 4.88 kills per set and has pushed her career total to 971. Holst hit .405 for the match with seven digs and three blocks.

Freshman middle blocker Marion Hazelwood finished second for the Sooners with 12 kills and hit a match-high .588. Junior setter Julia Doyle dished out 39 assists and added eight digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Kimmy Gardiner fell one kill shy of a double-double in a nine-kill, 10-dig effort. Sophomores Micaela Spann and Jody Larson each contributed five kills, while Spann added a match-high four blocks.

Junior libero Taylor Migliazzo led Oklahoma with 12 kills and was matched by Texas Tech's Rachel Brummitt for the match lead.

Outside hitter Jenna Allen posted a team-leading 11 kills for the Red Raiders.

The Sooners have won 19 straight against Texas Tech and narrowed the gap in the all-time series to 34-32.

Oklahoma returns home for its final home match of the season Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Kansas State.
