Leslie Smith, Radio Oklahoma Network - One of the largest horse shows in America continues to go in Oklahoma City.

The three week long American Quarter Horse Association World Championship is wrapping up this Saturday night. Under the big lights in the Jim Norick Arena, you can watch the best horseman and horses competing in halter, english, western and working cattle events. As impressive are the beautiful horses are the outfits embellished with rhinestones, jewels and sequins.

Before horses show in the main arena, there is a lot of preparation going on behind the scenes. Some horses are resting, while others are being groomed, polished and cleaned until they shine. In the practice pen, riders are making their final preparations, practicing maneuvers, patterns and going through courses.

The AQHA World Championship Show continues through the evening of Saturday, November 22nd at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. For more information visit www.aqha.com.
