Behind a balanced offensive attack where 12 players scored and the squad tallied 28 assists, the Oklahoma women's basketball team defeated Lamar 100-73 Tuesday night inside Lloyd Noble Center.

The Sooners' 28 assists, which came 41 made baskets, were the most since OU recorded 28 against Cal State Bakersfield on Dec. 12, 2008.

“I was really pleased with the way we shared the ball," stated Sooner head coach Sherri Coale. "Twenty-eight assists is a number that I love."

Four players reached the double-digit mark for OU, led by senior Sharane Campbell-Olds with 16. Campbell-Olds shot 6-for-10 from the floor, grabbed six rebounds and added two assists and two steals in the ballgame.

Sophomore Peyton Little (14 points), freshman LaNesia Williams (13 points) and sophomore Derica Wyatt (12 points) also recorded double-digit performances in the contest. L. Williams grabbed a team-high eight boards, and Little and freshman Gabbi Ortiz each dished a career-high seven assists.

Twelve of 13 Sooner players scored in the 27-point victory with 56 of the 100 points tallied coming from bench play.

"I am very pleased with the distribution of scoring and with our shooting percentage," Coale said. "I think that is purely a reflection of taking great shots and players knowing what are great shots for them. I think that's probably, if there is a little x-factor to our offense, that's it. It's guys understanding."

OU finished the game shooting 53.9 percent from the field (41-for-76), 35.5 percent from 3-point range (11-for-31) and 70 percent from the free throw line (7-for-10). The Sooners outrebounded the Cardinals 42 to 33 and forced 23 turnovers.

Lamar started the game on fire, building a 17-9 advantage over the home squad. At the 8:46 mark, Wyatt gave the Sooners the 28-25 lead, one it would not relinquish. OU then stretched its halftime difference to 50-43. The Sooners dominated in the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 50-30, en route to the victory.

The Sooners reached the 100-point plateau when senior Whitney Ritchie scored her first basket of the season.

Senior Dominique Edwards led the visiting Cardinals with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Shauna Long and freshman Baileigh O'Dell also scored in double-digits with 18 and 14 points, respectively.

Next up the Sooners will welcome Bradley to the Lloyd Noble Center on Friday, Nov. 21. The game will tip at 7 p.m. CT, and OU great Stacey Dales will be honored at halftime as her jersey is raised to the rafters.
