OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City has been chosen to host first and second round games in the 2016 NCAA men's basketball tournament.

OKC's Chesapeake Energy Arena, along with Brooklyn, Des Moines, Providence, St. Louis, and Raleigh, were selected as the six sites to host early-round tournament games. The Final Four will be in Houston in 2016.

“We are ecstatic to host the NCAA first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2010. We have a long and storied history with this prestigious event and the memories created in OKC when we have hosted are some of the most memorable of all time,” said All Sports Executive Director, Tim Brassfield.

“The tournament is one of the greatest sporting events each year and we are thrilled as an organization to co-host with the Big 12 Conference and bring it to the fans of OKC.”

Tulsa's BOK Center was also selected as a site to host first and second round games in the 2017 men's basketball tournament.
