BECKHAM COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A 26-year-old man was killed after rolling his pickup truck on a snowy road in Beckham County, Sunday morning.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, it happened just before 10 a.m., just east of mile marker 10 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 in Beckham County.

A 2010 F250 pickup driven by Joshua Winfred Tate was westbound on I-40 when it ran off the roadway and rolled two and a quarter times before coming to rest on the passenger side.

Tate was pinned inside the vehicle for about 45 minutes before being freed by Erick firefighters.

Tate was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to head and trunk internal injuries.

Troopers listed Tate's condition at the time of the wreck as “apparently normal” in the OHP collision report. The cause of the collision has been listed as “ice or snow on roadway.”
