Bloebaum was again emotionless as the judge read his sentence and the victim's sister read a statement to him.

The family of Jason Yousif told News 9 satisfaction washed over them knowing the man who took their son's life away will spend the rest of his life paying for the crime.

“Relief, I guess? You can't explain it. You can't describe it. But obviously nothing will ever bring Jason back, but at least his death isn't in vain,” said Laura Yousif, Jason's sister.

David Bloebaum's eyes were locked on the doors of the courtroom as deputies escorted the convicted murderer to his sentencing.

In Sept. 2012, Bloebaum shot and killed 29-year-old Jason Yousif in the Super Target parking lot near Pennsylvania Avenue and Memorial Road. The shooting was a result of a road rage battle the two allegedly were tangled up in moments before on the Kilpatrick Turnpike.

“It's not even worth getting mad over and look what this lead to. All over somebody cuts somebody off? Honk. Whatever. Scream, you know, through the window. To follow somebody and then hunt them down in a parking lot like a rabid dog? It's not the wild west,” said Yousif.

Inside the courtroom, Yousif told Bloebaum after he was sentenced he had "no regard for human life".

“No remorse. No care. I don't think he's learned a thing at all,” she said.

Yousif said the family was hoping the District Attorney's Office would go after a death penalty punishment, but they were happy with the life sentence Bloebaum received.
