A judge determined Friday morning that the suspect in the Norman hostage situation will be held without bond.

The hostage situation at the Nextep building, located at 1800 N. Interstate Drive, lasted just over four hours on Monday. The suspect, Devin Rogers is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center.

On Wednesday, the Cleveland County District Attorney filed six felony charges against Rogers, including two counts of kidnapping for extortion, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of discharging firearm into dwelling, and one count of possessing firearm during commission of a felony.

Rogers appeared for a Brill Hearing at 9 a.m. Friday before Judge Stice. It's called a Brill Hearing because it is to determine if Rogers can be held without bond.

Judge Stice determined that Rogers will be held without bond.

During the hearing Friday morning, News 9 learned that Rogers was not a POW. He had tried to take his own life in 2012. The VA has diagnosed him with PTSD and other mental health issues. He is currently not on any medication. And through the "triple eye" investigation, prosecutors said they did not find any criminal history.

Four attorneys are representing Devin Rogers pro bono: David Smith, Sam Talley, Kevin Findlay, and Vicki Floyd.

A preliminary hearing is set to take place on November 25, and attorneys have asked that Rogers appear. It will happen before Judge Tupper.

Defense has asked DA Greg Mashburn to recuse himself, since he will be a witness too due his conversations with Rogers. Stice will hear arguments on that on Friday.

Rogers did not enter a plea, but admitted he understood the charges against him. He may enter one Friday morning.
