The No. 24 University of Oklahoma volleyball team swept past Baylor on the road, 3-0, Saturday night. The Sooners improved to 17-7 overall and 8-3 in the Big 12, while the Bears fell to 13-13 and 3-8. The straight sets win was the ninth of the year for OU, which claimed the match by scores of 26-24, 25-14 and 26-24.

Junior outside hitter Kierra Holst posted a match-high 15 kills on a .351 hitting percentage. In two matches this week, she totaled 37 kills; averaging 4.38 per set. Holst, who added five digs, was one of just two players in the match to reach double figures in kills. Andie Malloy led the way for the Baylor attack at 11 and added 10 digs for the double-double effort.

As a team, Oklahoma hit .248 and held the Bears to a .189 attack rate. Redshirt-sophomore outside hitter Madison Ward was second on the Sooners with seven kills, while sophomore Micaela Spann and freshman Marion Hazelwood, both middle blockers, chipped in with five. Hazelwood added four blocks and Spann had three.

Junior setter Julia Doyle had an impact in nearly every aspect of the match for Oklahoma with 30 assists, six digs, five blocks and three service aces. Junior libero Taylor Migliazzo led the Sooners with 15 digs.

Amy Rosenbaum dished out 36 assists for Baylor, while Jana Brusek matched Migliazzo's effort with 15 digs.

The Sooners have won six in a row against the Bears and now lead the all-time series, 37-15.

Oklahoma returns home next week for two pivotal league matches. On Wednesday, November 12, the Sooners host Iowa State for their annual “Pledge for a Cure” match followed by a match-up with Texas on Saturday night.
