Totten was shot and killed at a home near Miller and NW 15th on Halloween.

26-year-old Darren Gouge was arrested and placed in jail for charges of murder and armed robbery for her death.

Many of Totten's friends said they are planning to get together this weekend to collect clothes, pictures, food and money for her family and especially for her 3-year-old son, who is now left without his mommy.

“I was in total shock,” said Jeanetta Servos, her daughter was a close friend. “ I'm still in shock. I mean it's a week later, and I still stop and think about how I can't believe that's she's gone.”

Servos and her daughter knew Lauren Maguffee Totten better than most.

That's because a few years ago, Lauren actually came to live with them for six months.

“She was an awesome, beautiful young lady,” said Servos. “I mean perfect houseguest. I would come home from work, and she'd have the house spotless! I mean she was just an all-around beautiful lady.”

Pictures on Facebook show Lauren had numerous friends and also show her love for her young son.

“I would just want him to know he was loved and that his mom was just a great all around person,” said Servos.

Court records revealed Lauren used to live in Yukon and had recently gone through a divorce and moved to Oklahoma City.

But why she was at the duplex near Miller Avenue and NW 15th Street remains a mystery.

Police records stated it was last Friday afternoon that Lauren was shot there by Gouge during a robbery.

Witnesses said he pulled a gun on her demanding her prescription pills and then shot her in the back of the head.

Servos said her daughter knew Gouge and went to school with him, but that Lauren did not. Now Servos said she just hopes Lauren's family will find peace as they continue to grieve her murder.

“I would just want to let Lauren's family know how sorry I am for them and that they are in my thoughts and prayers,” said Servos.

A memorial fund to benefit Lauren's young son has been established. It is called the 'Chris Totten for Benefit of Ryder Totten Educational Fund.'
