STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Stillwater Police have a murder suspect in custody, and a neighborhood is buzzing about how it happened.

Bob Mills Sky News 9 HD was first above the scene in an apartment behind Janzen Toyota near Highway 51 just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

A witness said she saw the murder suspect walk through the car dealership parking lot. She says he was covered in blood, and was carrying a large machete. Police won't confirm any of that.

The witness told News 9 she overheard the suspect talking on his cellphone. She said she heard him say “I just chopped somebody up.” The witness said at first she thought the bloody suspect was wearing some sort of Halloween costume.

Police will only tell us both the victim and the suspect are men.. They have not confirmed what type of weapon was used, but they did find one.

News 9 has confirmed through sources and online posts that the victim is the son of a high ranking local law enforcement official.
