We have two shots of cold air headed our way over the next few days.

The first one arrives Thursday afternoon as the leading edge Canadian air moves in. The cold front is expected to swing through central Oklahoma just after lunchtime.

Most of the day tomorrow will be warm with highs in the 70s ahead of the front. Highs will only reach the upper 60s in northern OK. The winds will quickly ramp up out of the north as the cold front moves in at 15 to 25 mph.

Another round of even cooler air will push in Friday. Highs on Friday will only reach the upper 50s and low 60s with a strong north wind at 15 to 25 mph. This will make for a chilly evening for all the trick-or-treaters, but looking nice an dry.

As we head into the overnight hours Friday into Saturday morning, the winds will relax and temperatures will drop into the 30s. This will be the coldest temps of the season across Oklahoma.

The coldest air should be from Ponca City to Chandler to Sallisaw and to the NE. These areas will likely see their first freeze of the season. Not looking quite that cold for the rest of the state, but will be chilly enough for frost to develop.

If the winds completely die down overnight, these temps could be a little lower. Keep that in mind.
