Jury Finds Locust Grove Man Guilty Of Child Molestation

A 34-year-old Locust Grove man was found guilty Wednesday of lewd molestation during his trial in Mayes County.

A 34-year-old Locust Grove man was found guilty Wednesday of lewd molestation during his trial in Mayes County. 

Robert Champlain was accused of repeatedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl. He was arrested in December 2013.  During the trial, the victim testified against Champlain. 

A jury of 8 men and 4 women found him guilty of three counts of lewd molestation and recommended life in prison plus a $10,000 fine on each of the three counts.

The judge scheduled a December 17, 2014 sentencing date for Champlain.
