Durant Police Capture Escaped Inmate From Vinita

Durant Police have captured escaped inmate Edward Stair. Stair, 51, walked away from the Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center in Vinita Sunday evening.

He was serving sentences for possession of methamphetamine and stealing copper wire.

The Department of Corrections tells News On 6 that Stair took a Forensics Center vehicle from the facility in Vinita and drove to Durant where he was taken back into custody Monday.
