3.2 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Near Medford

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in northern Oklahoma Monday evening.

The 3.2 magnitude quake was more than four miles deep. It shook the area nine miles southwest of Medford and 22 miles north of Enid at 7:46 p.m.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher
