Oklahoma State defeated Kansas 27-20 on Saturday in Lawrence. Here's some instant analysis, stick around for the full game recap.

What went well:

OSU won; that's about all Mike Gundy will love about this one. Other than that, it was a concerning performance from an OSU team that is about to embark on a brutal second-half schedule. Despite being outgained 352-280, give Oklahoma State credit for making plays in crucial situations. It's a sign that the Cowboys know how to win games even when they're not at their best.

What didn't:

A lot. Offensively, Daxx Garman still needs to improve on the short and easy throws. Also, OSU continues to struggle to find consistency on the ground. The Cowboys also lost the turnover battle to one of the worst teams in the Power Five.

What it means:

There's still plenty for the Cowboys to work on. Mike Gundy won't be pleased at all with this performance, but at the end of the day, OSU is 5-1 and 3-0 in Big-12 play; a place most programs would love to be.

Turning point:

After Kansas tied it up at 20-20, things really weren't looking up for the Pokes. The Jayhawks had all the confidence and momentum, but out of nowhere Tyreek Hill saved the day. Hill took the ensuing kickoff 99 yards down the left sideline and gave the Cowboys a 27-20 lead.

OSU MVP:

Hill, no doubt. The magnitude of his kick return cannot be overemphasized. Hill perhaps saved the Cowboys from one of their worst losses of the Gundy era. In addition, Hill led OSU with 52 yards receiving.

What's next:

The Cowboys better be ready for a whole new world. OSU heads to TCU next Saturday to play the No. 9 Horned Frogs. The Pokes proved that they can play with a top-10 team earlier this season when they had Florida State on the ropes.
