OKC Police Investigate Homicide After Shooting Victim Dies

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police are investigating a homicide after a shooting victim died at the hospital.

According to Oklahoma City police, late Wednesday night, one man was shot after an altercation in the courtyard of the Donita Apartments, located at 2034 N.W. 25th Street. 

News 9 spoke with Tiffany Miller, who said she heard gunshots and saw the victim fall to the ground. Miller said she checked the man's pulse and called 911. She said she knew him as a homeless man who goes by the name, Nick.

Police said the man was transported to OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been officially released.

Captain Bobby Tompkins with the Oklahoma City Police Department said the suspect is described as a short, stocky, black male. No clothing or vehicle description was provided.

No arrests have been made at this time. Police said this is Oklahoma City's 44th homicide of 2014.
