Charges Against Moore Workplace Beheading Suspect Expected Tuesday

The man accused of beheading a woman and attacking another is yet to be put behind bars.

30-year-old Alton Nolen is still in the hospital, but police have already presented their case to the Cleveland County District Attorney.

The charges against Nolen are expected to be filed Tuesday.

Moore police worked on their case all through the weekend and Monday afternoon presented the District Attorney with all their information, including a recommendation that Nolen should be charged with at least one count of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Workers at the Vaughan foods where the attack took place are back at work Monday.

A spokesperson said crisis counselors are there with them, and a memorial has been placed outside the grounds honoring the two women who were attacked.

Colleen Hufford, 54, was brutally beheaded and killed in the attack.

Traci Johnson, 43, was also stabbed, but survived.

Police told News 9 she has been released from the hospital Saturday and News 9 has also learned she has even reached out and thanked the man who saved her.

Mark Vaughan, the Chief Operating Officer at Vaughan Foods, is also a reserve Oklahoma County deputy.

Vaughan shot Alton Nolan with a rifle during the attack, but will obviously not be facing any charges since his action stopped the attack and ended up saving lives.

“It would have been a lot worse if he wouldn't have done what he did. He indeed saved her life,” said Sgt. Jeremy Lewis with Moore police.

Moore police also told News 9 one thing the affidavit will reveal is that Alton Nolen actually left the grounds of the food processing plant after getting fired, but then returned to the front office later to exact his revenge.

The FBI is still looking into whether his Islamic faith had anything to do with Thursday's attack.

Nolen's Facebook page which was found under the name Jah'Keem Yisrael revealed disturbing references to the actions of Islamic extremists and the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11. Local Islamic groups have denounced his actions.
