OKLAHOMA CITY -

Boeing officials announced the company will relocate many of its defense services and support-related activities from Washington State's Puget Sound region to Oklahoma City. Officials said this is part of the company's effort to improve competitiveness of its Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) unit.

Approximately 900 positions will move to Oklahoma City during a transition that could take up to two years, officials said.

The major programs set to move include services and support work for Airborne Warning Control Systems, Airborne Early Warning & Control and the B-2/Air Launch Cruise Missile.

Steve Goo is the site director for Boeing Oklahoma City. He will join Governor Mary Fallin at 2 p.m. at the new site at 6001 S Air Depot Drive for a press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
