An Oklahoma City University student filed a report of sexual assault on campus.

A campus-wide alert remained in effect for classes, Monday, while OCU Police partner with Oklahoma City Police to investigate the alleged incident.

OCU administrators sent out a 'blue alert' to students' cell phones, Sunday.

"Really safety is our priority for students and employees, so it [blue alert] is just one more tool we have to... let them know when things are happening," said Sandra Pantlik, OCU Senior Director of Communications.

Administrators also sent emails about of the alleged sexual assault of a student after campus police responded to the incident outside of Draper Hall, a co-ed dormitory, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The student described the attacker as a black male, in his early 20's, who is not believed to have any affiliation with OCU.

Administrators assured students a full investigation will be conducted.

Meanwhile, they are asking students to be extra cautious and follow important campus safety tips.

"Don't walk alone at night, our on-campus police offer an escort service, and any of our students can call the police and they will come pick them up and take them to the dorm," said Pantlik.

Until the suspect is apprehended, administrators also asked students to familiarize themselves with 'blue phones,' an emergency phone system on campus.

"You can just push it, you don't have to dial, and you are immediately connected to our police department," Pantlick reminded the student body.
