The man who was shot and wounded after allegedly killing one co-worker and injuring another at a Moore food distribution business has a lengthy criminal history.

News 9 has learned 30-year-old Alton Nolen is originally from southeast Oklahoma and attended Idabel High School. It was in McCurtain County where Nolen had his first run-ins with law enforcement, minor offenses in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Nolen was enrolled at Langston University for one semester in 2005 but left before completing a degree. More serious criminal activity followed.

In July 2006, Nolen pleaded guilty to possession of drugs with intent to distribute in Oklahoma City.

Three years later, in September 2009, documents show Langston authorities arrested him at his sister's apartment for possession, obstructing an officer and escape from detention.

In October 2010, Nolen was the subject of a massive manhunt after assaulting an OHP Trooper during a traffic stop. He served just under two years in prison, according to the Department of Corrections web site, from April 2011 to March 2013.

Further insight into Nolen's background and current state of mind can be gleaned from his Facebook page. Images and text on the page reflect the conversion to Islam that was first referenced today by Moore police during their news conference.
