The former chief of prosthetics at the VA Medical Center in Muskogee was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to 15 months in prison.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Muskogee said sentencing followed Jeffrey Fisher's guilty plea in May 2014 to a charge of being a public official who received a gratuity.

U.S. Attorney Mark Green said an internal VA investigation determined Fisher had fence and driveway work done at his Broken Arrow home by a Muskogee medical supply company between April 2009 and March 2010.

A federal judge also ordered Fisher to pay $6,774 in restitution.
