Truck Driver Dies From Injuries Received In Mayes County Bus Crash Last Month

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver of a semi that rear-ended a tour bus near Pryor in August died from his injuries more than a month later.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver of a semi that rear-ended a tour bus near Pryor in August died from his injuries more than a month later.

The OHP says Jimmy Griner, 45, was driving a 2006 Freightliner when it rear-ended a tour bus that was slowing down to stop at a railroad crossing. It happened at 3:30 a.m. on August 14, 2014 on Highway 69 one mile south of Pryor.

Griner died on September 17, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, according to the OHP. 

The bus was carrying 37 Mexican nationals, including children, from Chicago to Monterrey, Mexico. Some went to hospitals with injuries but they weren't seriously hurt and were all eventually released.
