Burglars broke into an Oklahoma City Elementary School twice within two hours on Sunday.

Police released surveillance video showing one of the three suspects inside at Adams Elementary near SW 37th and I-44. They got inside by breaking a window.

“That's really scary. It makes me think about it now because my pre-K child comes here,” said parent Martha Urbina.

Oklahoma City Police said the adult in the video is believed to be a black man, 25 to 30 years old with shoulder-length combed back hair. Investigators said he and two juveniles burglarized the school twice.

News 9 asked Urbina who would break into an elementary school.

“I have no idea. I know it wouldn't be me. That's nothing that would come to my mind,” Urbina answered.

The first burglary was around 5 a.m. on Sunday, then again at 7 a.m. that same day.

“We received a phone call from a school employee who had actually come to school that morning, found the front door propped open and a window had been broken out in one of the classrooms,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.

Police said the suspects tracked mud throughout the school, but there were not any good camera shots of the juveniles. It is believed the only thing taken from the school was some cash out of the office, although it's unknown exactly how much was taken.

“Think about the children, I mean, you know, why would you want to steal money that belongs, that is money that the kids are going to use, that's used for the kids?” Urbina told News 9.

Police said they looked for fingerprints at the crime scene, but did not find any so they are depending on that surveillance video to help solve this burglary. Call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300 if you have information.

Oklahoma City Public Schools released a statement following the burglaries that reads in part:

"The staff at Adams Elementary held an emergency after hours meeting to discuss building safety procedures; as well as reinforced the daily routine checks by security personnel. The District plans to increase after hours and weekend security personnel and has implemented a 24-hour safety hotline to improve safety and security for all students and staff."
