OKLAHOMA CITY -

The pain at the pump could be ratcheting down even more so as oil refineries begin the process of switching to winter-blended fuel.

Oklahoma gas prices have already gone down nearly $ .20 over the past couple of months and experts say the price could go down another $ .20 by Halloween, according to AAA reports.

As of Tuesday, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.38; Oklahoma's average is about $3.23, with some gas stations posting prices as low as $2.93 in some parts of the metro.

“Demand is down and WTI crude oil continues to sell in the low-to-mid 90s on the NYMEX,” said AAA Oklahoma spokesperson, Chuck Mai. “In addition, now that [gas] stations are selling the cheaper-to-produce winter-grade fuels, the stars are in alignment to bring motorists even lower pump prices this fall.”

AAA expects the national average price of gasoline to drop another 10 to 20 cents by the end of October.
