The United States Geological Survey and the Oklahoma Geological Survey report a 4.0 magnitude earthquake rumbled near Guthrie, Okla. Monday afternoon.
The initial report from the USGS was at 4.2 but was later revised to 4.0.
Several viewers around the metro reported feeling the quake, which struck at approximately 3:08 p.m.
The epicenter of the quake was located one mile south, southeast of the town of Guthrie, or about 27 miles north, northeast of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of about four miles.
A 3.2. magnitude aftershock was recorded at 3:14 p.m.
So far there have been no reports of damage or injury associated with this earthquake.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with earthquakes at magnitudes 4.0 and higher.
