OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Fire Department is hosting its 2nd Annual Project Life Run fundraiser, starting at 8 a.m. on September 20 at the Regatta Park, 701 S. Lincoln.

As temperatures cool, the chance of home fires increases as families try to keep warm. Oklahoma City fire officials offer free smoke alarms to help alert families during an emergency.

Captain Benny Fulkerson with the Oklahoma City Fire Department said the Project Life program allows the fire department to provide life-saving smoke alarms to citizens free of charge.
