An Oklahoma City man was arrested for public drunkenness, indecent exposure, and other crimes after leading police on a number of bizarre calls around the south side of the metro late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

The first call went out around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, to a disturbance at the Pizza Inn located near SW 59th St. The caller told police a man had come in the backdoor of the business and asked for a woman named “Rebecca”. The caller also told police that the man was babbling and not making sense.

When police arrived to the business the suspect was gone, but the caller told them that he saw the man drive a white Subaru behind the Almonte shopping center just south of the Pizza Inn. The responding officer found the vehicle unoccupied, but not far from there they found the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Charles Gann, playing with wires hanging down from an electrical box behind one of the businesses.

The officer made contact with Gann and asked what he was doing. Gann responded that “the clues led him there” and he had to “clamp the wires to get the next clue.” The officer placed Gann in handcuffs and put him in the back of his squad car. While in the car Gann began to tell the officer that he was on a quest for his true love. He said that he was following the clues and they led him to this location.

The officer believed Gann to be intoxicated and possibly suffering from a mental disorder. The officer asked for a phone number for Gann's mother. She met the officer at the shopping center and Gann was released into her care.

Shortly after driving away, the officer saw Gann's mother attempting to flag him down. She told him that Gann had jumped out of her vehicle and ran away. The officer then saw Gann running southbound through a gateway in a fence to Drexel Ct.

While the officer searched, a call went out for a suspect matching Gann's description knocking on the door of a home in the area. The caller told police that a man claimed Jesus had sent him to the home to find Mary. The officer soon arrived at the location, but Gann was nowhere to be found.

A couple hours later, at around 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a strange burglary call in a neighborhood where officers first made contact with Gann. When the officer made met with the homeowners, they said a white male suspect with blonde hair broke into their home and took a shower.

The residents said after his shower the suspect fled the home without his shoes and clothes. It was then the officers noticed that the clothes left behind were the same that Gann had had on when they saw him earlier in the day. The officers again searched the area but were unable to locate Gann.

Finally, at approximately 3:15 a.m., the officers were called to a sex offense call at another home around the same area. The caller told police that a naked man was standing on his porch trying to get into the home. When police arrived and spoke with the homeowner, he told them the suspect was messing with a van parked in front of the home. He said the naked man then walked onto his porch and began ringing the doorbell. When confronted he said the naked man told him he was Jesus.

The homeowner told police the man then went to the back of the home and began beating on the door. After about three minutes, the homeowner said the man went back to the front door where he confronted him again and told him to leave. The homeowner said the man walked away westbound on SW 61st St.

The officers went in that direction where they eventually located Gann, completely naked, lying in a field. When they made contact, the officers say Gann was slow to respond and sluggish in his movement. Once he again he was placed under arrest, but this time he was transported to the Oklahoma County Jail.

Gann was booked on one count of Indecent Exposure, one count of Breaking and Entering, one count of Public Drunkenness and one count of Public Indecency.
