OKLAHOMA CITY -

It was a scary walk to school for a 13-year-old girl who said a 55-year-old man came after her.

She told police he even exposed himself to her but she thought fast and got away.

55-year-old Randy Bonitz sits in the Oklahoma county jail Tuesday night on charges of indecent exposure.

It all happened this past Friday around 8:30 that morning at the Meridian Apartments on NW 10th near N. Meridian Avenue.

Police said the victim was on her way to school when Bonitz allegedly exposed himself.

“They're innocent children, you know, and you never know. You're scared something might happen to your children,” said apartment tenant, Gail Wooden.

According to court documents, Bonitz walked toward the teen completely exposed saying, "I like little girls." It all happened in clear public view.

“I don't know what I would do. I'd probably go ballistic on him,” said Wooden.

Gail Wooden said what happened is concerning, but she's not surprised. She says she's already given her daughters fair warning.

“I don't want to let my kids outside, I'd just rather keep them inside unless I'm out there supervising them. I mean, there's a playground right there, you can't even let them outside because you never know what's going to happen,” said Wooden.

“To know that a guy is showing himself to girls, and I have girls, it's really nerve racking,” said tenant, Dalene Bennefield.

Dalene Bennefield and her two young daughters have only lived in the complex for a month.

“It is scary to know that because you never know what could happen, and I have an inquisitive 2-year-old, she'll talk to anybody that will wave at her,” said Bennefield.

“They need serious help, you know,” said Wooden.

Police said the victim did run home and tell her mother what happened. Police were called and Bonitz was arrested at his apartment without incident.
