The boyfriend of a Chickasha woman, who was found dead at her home last Friday, is being held by New Mexico authorities for possession of a stolen vehicle and in connection with an alleged murder. However, OSBI has not named him as a suspect in the woman's death.

Last Friday, 24-year-old Amanda Cecil was found dead inside her home in the 1200 block of Choctaw Avenue, where she lived with her boyfriend, 31-year-old Lofton Amier Gray.

According to the Medical Examiner's office, Cecil's cause of death was gunshot wound to the head. And her manner of death was homicide.

Gray, who was wanted for questioning in connection to Cecil's death, was found Saturday night more than 500 miles away from the scene of the crime. He was in Gallup, N.M.

According to police reports, Gray was driving a stolen 1991 white Jeep Cherokee. New Mexico State Police were called to a road rage incident where Gray allegedly threw a crowbar at another motorist. That motorist then reportedly hit Gray with his vehicle, sending him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gray has been arrested and booked into jail in New Mexico for possession of the stolen vehicle. He's expected to be extradited back to Chickasha.

Gray is set to appear before a judge at 1:30 p.m. MTD in McKinley County, New Mexico, on a fugitive of justice warrant.

Lt. Kamaal Ashely with the McKinley County Adult Detention Center in New Mexico said "Gray is being held on Fugitive of Justice warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle and alleged murder." The hearing is to determine his extradition to Oklahoma.

The OSBI has not named Gray as a suspect in the murder of Cecil. However, investigators initially released Gray's picture and a description of the stolen vehicle in an attempt to locate and interview him about his knowledge of his girlfriend's death.

A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation previously said he will be brought to Chickasha for allegedly stealing a 1991 Jeep Cherokee.

OSBI agents caught up with Gray when he was hospitalized following a road rage incident in Gallup, New Mexico.

Lt. Ashley said a decision on Gray's extradition will be made by 3 p.m. MTD.
