An Antlers woman was killed Saturday evening after troopers say she pulled into traffic on U.S. Highway 75 in Washington County. The fatality crash took place just before 7 p.m. about 6 miles south of Ramona.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say Irene Roberts, 76, was driving a Dodge Neon westbound on CR 4000. She stopped at the stop sign then went forward to turn south, pulling into the path of a Dodge Ram driving by Bartlesville resident Joe Spann, according to a collision report.

The pickup hit the Neon in the driver's door. Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head injuries, the collision report states.

There were three passenger's in Roberts' car: 44-year-old Kenneth Roberts and two juveniles, all from Claremore. Roberts was admitted to a Tulsa hospital with head and internal injuries. He was said to be stable.

The 12-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl in the car were both treated and released at a Tulsa hospital. They were not identified in the report due to their age.

Spann, 62, was treated and released from a Bartlesville hospital with an arm injury.

The report states both drivers were in apparently normal condition at the time of the wreck, and everyone was wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash is listed as failure to yield from stop sign.
