EL RENO, Oklahoma -

Fire crews responded to a church fire Saturday morning in El Reno.

It happened at the Faith Family Church, located at 1205 Sunset Drive.

Faith Family Church Pastor Paul Roach said he and his wife received a call about the fire around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, and when they arrived at the church, he said there was smoke coming out everywhere. Roach said within 30 minutes of their arrival, the fire broke through the roof.

Church member JoAnn Hensley said the fire started in the east wing and spread to the sanctuary.

“So far, we think the air conditioner in my office was pushed in to my office, and none of the firemen said that they did it," explained Roach. "So we think somebody broke in and has started this fire.”

"It was surreal coming and seeing your home church up in flames," 11-year church member, Mike Metcalf said.

Pastor Roach said several churches have offered their buildings and fellowship halls to the Faith Family Church community.

“It bothers me that somebody broke in, but I know we're gonna be okay. Our church is gonna be okay," said Roach. "We're a strong church, a very loving church. We're gonna pull together through this, and it will make us stronger.”

Faith Family Church plans to build a new building in the same location.

No injuries were reported with this fire, and there are no known suspects at this time.
