Prue Public Schools is letting out early due to a power outage. Superintendent Tom Skully said students will be released from class at 1 p.m.

Thunderstorms caused power outages across the town. School officials do not expect it to be restored in time to continue school, according to the superintendent.

Skully said he believes a damaged transformer is delaying power restoration.
