Dump Truck Wrecks Near Port Of Catoosa

Emergency crews responded to a dump truck wreck in the 14700 block of 46th Street North Tuesday morning. That's on Highway 266 about a mile west of the Port of Catoosa.

The dump truck was pulling a trailer with a track hoe when it crashed down the grassy embankment. Traffic investigators believe the truck driver was trying to avoid someone that pulled out in front of them.

Two men were in the privately-owned truck. Both were able to get out but sustained injuries in the wreck. They have been taken to the hospital in unknown condition and are expected to be OK. Authorities say one of the men was more seriously hurt than the other.

The excavator was thrown from the trailer and ended up on its side.

The wreck happened during Tuesday morning's heavy rainfall. Tulsa and Limestone Fire Departments responded.
