Police say officers shot and killed a man holding an 8-inch knife Tuesday morning. He has been identified as Mark Allen Kelley, 45.

Officers were responding to a report of a man with a self-inflicted stab wound in a home in the 300 block of North 25th West Avenue at about 4:30 a.m.

As they arrived, Kelley was standing in the driveway holding the knife. Police said he refused repeated commands to drop the knife and then approached the officers. Three of them opened fire, striking Kelley several times.

"He was very aggressive with the officers; he was yelling back and forth with the officers," said OfficerJillianm Roberson, Tulsa Police Department.

EMSA took the man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are still investigating if he died from his stab wounds or the gunfire.

The officers involved are now being interviewed by detectives. The three officers are on routine leave during the investigation.
