A Tulsa man was arrested for felony rape and domestic assault late Friday night in North Tulsa. Police say Roger Ellis tried to light his victim on fire before sexually assaulting her.

Authorities say they went to a home on North Trenton and found a woman with many visible injuries. She told them her boyfriend beat her with a stick then poured alcohol and Coleman fuel on her, using a lighter to try to set her on fire.

He then got a large walking stick and beat her on her back and legs, according to an arrest report. The woman told officers she was afraid he was going to keep beating her, so she didn't fight when he sexually assaulted her then left.

He is being held on a $100,000 bond for first-degree rape, aggravated domestic assault and battery and robbery by force or fear. The arrest report does not say what the robbery charge concerns.
